I would like to thank the members of Still Standing, as well as all of you who follow the group, for all of your love, support and prayers during and after my surgery.
As you know, we had a pretty busy summer performance schedule planned, that is until I developed issues with a few blocked arteries. The good news is the Doctors figured out what was wrong and corrected it before the issue turned into bigger problems. We avoided a heart attack, praise God, but it did cause us to cancel some performances in some cases and delay them in other cases.
My double bypass surgery took place on August 14 and went well. I was in the hospital for 6 days and returned home to recover. Well, that was the plan, anyway. Unfortunately, the story didn’t end there. I started having complications with my breathing. After 1 liter of fluid was drained from my left lung, I was told I should start breathing better. Well, it didn’t quite work out that way, I still could not get my oxygen level up after returning home from the emergency room where the fluid was drained. Thanks to our own Shari Rogers and her husband Brad, it was quickly recognized that something more serious with my lungs was going on, I had developed a Pulmonary Embolism (blood clot) in my left lung. So, after another 7 days in the hospital, the blood clot was cleared and things started getting much better.
Anyway, to make a very long story short, I am on the road to recovery and have returned to what I love to do, playing worship music with my Still Standing family.
Once again, I thank all of you for your prayers, they certainly helped!!
God Bless,
ED GOULD
