Hi I’m Luann.  I love my husband, my children, my grandchildren, and I love praising my Lord.  I remember back when I was 10 years old my friend and I had a duet in the Christmas program at church.  Well, she got sick just before it began and I had to sing solo that night.  I was scared to death.  But every time I did so after that, it became easier to do as it became less about me and more about Him.  Today I find great peace and joy in worship music.  It has the power to heal a broken heart, to lift our worldly burdens, and to break the power of sin as we submit wholly to God’s will for our lives.  Worship music is a wonderful form of communication that God has blessed us with as we surrender to Him and praise Him in all circumstances.  My life verse for the past 25 plus years has been Jeremiah 29:11-13 which says,  “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”  My prayer is that God will continue to use me as an instrument of His love to minister to others through praise and worship music.

My family encouraged my love for music at an early age.  I began taking piano lessons from my Aunt Virginia when I was 6, which including learning hymns to play for church.  I have such fond memories of family sing-a-longs at the piano.  I was introduced to other styles of worshipful music while attending bible youth camp in the summers and when I heard my first contemporary Christian song, “El Shaddai”, I remember being deeply moved.  Music that honors God binds us to Him and to each other in a deep and powerful way. How many times are we commanded in scripture to sing!  I have always found such joy and connection through singing, as I grew in faith, raising my voice in song was a way I could honor and praise my precious Savior and share His amazing love with others.  For the past 6 years I have had the privilege to serve as part of the Praise and Worship Team at Cherry Tree Alliance Church in Uniontown.  In 2017 I was invited to join Still Standing and I so thankful for the blessing of these dear brothers and sisters. I pray that God continues to guide our music ministry and give us opportunities to serve and encourage others along the journey of faith.

JEFF ARISON

I was raised in a musical family. One of my earliest memories is sitting in a circle playing and singing the old hymns of faith. During those times, I learned the value of knowing God and the ways that He speaks through music. Today, I continue to play and sing songs that exalt the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Music is a universal language. It reaches the deepest part of the soul where one experiences passion, joy, sadness, comfort, and laughter. As I lead in worship, I enjoy watching God touch people in ways that change lives. I like to say that I am in the front row for worship.  My life verse is Ephesians 3:20: Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine according to His power that is at work within us.

PHIL RUSSELL

I discovered my love of music at a young age.  Growing up in the church, many of the earliest songs I learned were hymns and Sunday school songs.  While my parents didn’t play any instruments, they loved music and always had a song to sing.  They shared their faith as well as their love of music with me and my  siblings, and made sure that all of us had music lessons.  Through the ups and downs of life, music has always been a source of comfort and inspiration to me.  I am thankful for the opportunity to minister to other through God’s gift of music.

I have been playing drums over 35 years.  Within that time, I have played on and off for Oak Hill Baptist Church in Smithfield Pennsylvania, but the last few years my focus has been playing for New Life Free Methodist Church in Smock Pennsylvania.  In addition to playing for the New Life Free Methodist Church, I play drums for Still Standing and I am truly blessed to be a part of his wonderful group while glorifying the Lord.

ED GOULD

Keyboards / Sound Engineer

I began playing piano/organ at the age of 5.  While being raised Roman Catholic, I didn’t connect with God until I was 37 years old, after being invited to a nondenominational Christian Church, where I accepted Jesus into my heart after a personal connection with God through Contemporary Worship music.   I then decided it was time to use the talents that God gave me to serve on the Worship Team at my church.  Aside from music, I was also gifted with the ability to be a Live and Studio Sound Engineer.  I joined Still Standing as their Sound Engineer and was quickly invited to bring my years of musical experience playing keyboards for the group.   I have drawn strength through many life challenges by leaning on my favorite Bible verse.  

Philippians 4: 12-13;  I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation . . . . I can do everything through He who gives me strength.
